Bangalore Whippets Tail
Origin: Bangalore, India
Type: Hybrid cross between Bangalore Torpedo and Whippet's Tail varieties
Appearance: Long, slender, and often curled pods that resemble fingernails or torpedoes, growing up to 25-30 cm in length
Colour: Matures from green to red
Flavour: A spicy, aromatic, and flavourful taste that starts sweet before the heat kicks in
Heat level: 20,000 to 50,000 SHU (significantly hotter than a jalapeño)
Plant growth: The plant grows to about 90-120 cm high and is very productive
Uses: Versatile for use in sauces, curries, soups, salsas, and other cooked dishes
Growing tips: Can be grown in home gardens or containers, prefers full sunlight, and requires moderate watering
